About Us

Express Shutters was founded in 1983 by Mr.Philip Stroud and Mr.Robert North, then joined by Mr.John Coxall in 1987. Mr.North has since retired. Mr.Philip Stroud and Mr.John Coxall continue to carry out the running of Express Shutters.

The company started as a two man team business but has now been established as North London's premier shutter manufacturer. We are based in Tottenham, London N15. The factory owned by Mr.Stroud is 7500 square feet in which we manufacture all our own Industrial and Retail Shop Roller Shutters. We also manufacture and install Industrial and Domestic Roller Shutters, Bar & Servery Shutters, Fire Shutters, Shutter Doors,Continental Shutters, Security Lattice Gates, Garage Doors, Burglar Bars, Grilles, Security Fencing, Caging, Balustrades, Steel Fire Escapes, Mezzanine Floors and all types of General Metalwork.

We also manufacture and install or repair Metal Doors for The Electricity Board to transformer chambers and for local Councils for Paladin areas of Council Housing Estates.

Our work force totals 20 employees. We aim to give our clients full satisfaction with successful and apleasing work carried out by Express Shutters.

Express Shutters is proud to state that we are ISO 9002 approved and are members of the Door and Shutter Manufacturers Association (D.S.M.A). The Door and Shutter Manufacturers' Association (DSMA) is the only trade association for the door and shutter industry. It looks after the interests of more than 70 of Britain's leading industrial, commercial and garage door and shutter suppliers and manufacturers. It upholds members' standards of technical competence, professional integrity, quality and service. This gives specifiers and end users the confidence to choose products and services from DSMA members rather than from non-members. The DSMA is taking a lead in Europe to harmonise standards covering safety, security and fire protection and is represented on several standard-setting bodies.
